This quick and easy Thai peanut sauce recipe is one I like to serve with my beef satay, but it is equally delicious with chicken satay, grilled chicken breasts, grilled meats or even grilled vegetables. There's not much I won't dunk into this sauce!
All you need to make this creamy peanut sauce recipe is red curry paste, coconut milk, peanut butter (read about the health benefits of peanut butter), granulated sugar, honey, dark soy sauce and apple cider vinegar. Because we use coconut milk in this Asian peanut butter sauce, it is dairy-free.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon red curry paste
- 3/4 cup coconut milk (full fat)
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
- 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup water, as needed to thin
Here's how to make it:
- Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan. (You can use smooth or creamy peanut butter.)
- Heat until thick and bubbly. Use water to thin for desired consistency. Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve. Store the peanut sauce in an airtight container in the fridge. You can reheat quickly in the microwave.
