Memorial Day Creamy Bean Dip Recipe: The Easiest Refried Bean Dip Recipe Ever Appetizers Mexican Recipes

When company comes over for Memorial Day, July 4th or Labor Day – or any summer gathering – they're going to be looking for chips and dips. Don't disappoint those friends and family! This creamy warm refried bean dip recipe is so easy you won't mind making it, just be ready for the recipe requests.

The bean dip is made with a can of refried beans, chunky salsa, shredded Monterey Jack cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, cream cheese, chili powder and ground cumin. You can cook the warm dip in a slow cooker, in the oven or in the microwave. The microwave is the fastest, but the slow cooker method will keep the dip warm all day. Your call!

Serve this creamy bean dip with fresh tortilla chips or cut up vegetables like celery, red pepper or carrots. If you wanted, you could add some cooked taco-seasoned ground beef or even chorizo into the dip. Delish.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (16 ounces) refried beans
  • 1 cup chunky salsa
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Here's how to make it: 

  1. Combine all the ingredients and mix well. 
  2. To make it in a slow cooker, put the mixture into a 1 1/2-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally. 
  3. To make it in the oven, put the mixture into a baking dish and bake at 350 degrees F for about 20 minutes.
  4. To make in the microwave, put the mixture into a microwave-safe bowl. Cook for about 5 minutes or until heated through.
