Dill Pickle Brined Chicken Wings Recipe: This Baked Chicken Wings Recipe Is a Big Deal Appetizers Poultry Budget-friendly Dinner

We know there are a lot of chicken wing lovers out there. We also know that a lot of you adore pickles. If you happen to love both, this is going to be your new favorite chicken wing recipe!   

This brined baked chicken wing recipe is super simple to prep and to bake. For this chicken wing recipe you'll need chicken wings (drumettes and flats), dill pickle juice from a jar of pickles, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley flakes, dried dill and dried chives. The wings are marinated for at least two hours before being seasoned with the spices and baked until golden and crispy.

Serve these dill pickle brined chicken wings with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch, creamy Cajun dipping sauce, two-ingredient fry sauce or even dill pickle dip. Delish!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wing sections (drumettes and flats)
  • 1 1/2 cups dill pickle juice 
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried chives

Here's how to make it: 

  1. Put the chicken wings into a plastic zipper food storage bag or shallow dish. Pour the pickle juice over, cover or seal and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  2. When ready to cook, drain the chicken wings (discard the pickle juice). Pat the wings dry and drizzle with the olive oil. Season with salt and black pepper, to taste, and garlic powder, onion powder, parsley flakes, dried dill and dried chives. Toss to coat and put onto an oiled baking sheet in a single layer.
  3. Bake the chicken wings in a preheated 425-degree F oven for about 40 to 45 minutes, turning halfway through cooking time, until crispy and cooked through.
