The Pioneer Woman's Chocolate Cake Recipe Is Crazy, But Works (3 Ingredients, 30 Minutes) Cakes/Cupcakes Desserts Budget Recipes Snacks
You can't go wrong with chocolate cake on Valentine's Day! The Pioneer Woman (aka Ree Drummond) makes a very interesting three-ingredient chocolate cake. The celebrity chef's chocolate cake recipe is made with crisp chocolate cookies (yes, cookies!), baking powder and milk. Sounds interesting, right? I thought so, too.
To make the dense chocolate cake recipe, put crispy chocolate cookies (not cream-filled sandwich cookies or soft cookies) and baking powder into a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. With the motor running, slowly pour in milk until a smooth batter is formed. This chocolate batter goes into a square cake pan lined with parchment paper and is baked for about 20 minutes.
Ree uses chocolate bear-shaped cookies when she makes the cake recipe. Just be sure to buy crisp cookies, as soft or cream filled would affect the texture of the cake batter.
Serve this three-ingredient chocolate cake for dessert or as a sweet snack during the day. You can serve it without frosting or try one of these:
