Creamed corn is an amazing side dish that goes with every protein. And who doesn't love corn? This easy creamed corn recipe has just five simple ingredients and cooks in the slow cooker, freeing up oven space (think Thanksgiving).

Serve this corn side dish with chicken, pork, beef, lamb, seafood or turkey. To add some color, garnish with chopped green onions or fresh chives.

Ingredients

  • 28 ounces frozen whole kernel corn
  • 1 box (8 ounces) cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Here's how to make it: 

  1. Put all the ingredients into a slow cooker. Season with salt and pepper. 
  2. Cover and cook on low for about 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Stir and serve.
