Naan is a leavened flatbread that is popular in many Middle Eastern countries. But it's now almost as popular in the U.S. Naan is such a versatile bread and can be eaten with all sorts of dishes – from tikka masalapanang nuerhummus and curry dishes – or used as a base for pizza or sandwiches. And naan is easy to make at home!

This simple two-ingredient naan recipe will make you wonder why you've been buying premade naan for so long. The naan is made with self-rising flour and healthy Greek yogurt. That's it. The dough is quickly kneaded, rolled out and then fried in a skillet (minimal oil) until it begins to brown. So simple.

Be sure to share the incredible naan recipe with friends and family. You can easily double the recipe and share with them, too!

Recipe Notes

  • Be sure to use full-fat Greek yogurt for this naan recipe.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Mix together the flour and yogurt in a bowl until combined.
  2. Flour a work surface. Knead the dough until smooth, about 3 minutes.
  3. Use your hands and flatten the dough into a rectangle. Cut it into eight pieces. Shape each piece into a circle (it does not have to be perfect).
  4. Add a few drops of vegetable oil to a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Cook the dough circles until they begin to brown, about 2 minutes. Flip them over and cook another 2 to 3 minutes.

This looks really good I'm trying to embark on this as well when you buy it from the store it doesn't seem as realistic there is a store that I saw that makes Middle Eastern food and they have authentic Middle Eastern bread One day I hope to embark upon it and after I make some see if they'll try it because I know some people I know Middle Eastern are very particular about to prepare this and I've seen it being prepared on a like a griddle almost and it's very interesting so the storage when you prepare it do you prepare it or can you prepare it ahead of time and a skillet's the best thing to cook it on thanks for any tips
