Fun Recipes for Super Bowl®: Forget Pigs in a Blanket & Make These Dough-Wrapped Hot Dogs Appetizers Snacks

Instead of serving pigs in a blanket for the big game, make a few trays of these dough-wrapped wieners. You won't have to worry about buns, just an array of sauces to dip them in like ketchup, mustard, ranch dressing, barbecue sauce or your favorite dipping sauce

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Servings: varies

Ingredients

  • hot dog wieners
  • frozen bread dough (thawed) or refrigerated pizza dough

Here's how to make it:

  1. Roll the thawed bread dough into balls. Flatten them out to be larger than the wieners. Lay them on a cookie sheet. Cut the sides of the dough to form slits. Place a hot dog in the center and wrap the slits over the wiener to cover. Brush with an egg wash, if desired.
  2. Bake in a preheated 375-degree F oven for 10 to 14 minutes, or until golden brown.
