One is a quick version when you're short on time or there's not a fresh herb within miles. The other takes a just a little more time but showcases those fresh, healthy herbs. My family loves both.

For the quick ranch dressing you'll need:

• 3/4 cup mayonnaise
• 1/4 cup buttermilk
• 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
• black pepper, to taste
• 1 - 2 cloves garlic, minced

Here's how you make it:

1. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Refrigerate until ready to use. 

For the fresh herbs ranch dressing you'll need:

• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1/2 cup mayonnaise
• 1/3 cup chopped fresh herbs (parsley, dill, chives, tarragon, etc.)
• 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
• 1 - 2 cloves garlic, minced

Here’s how you make it:

1. Whisk together the buttermilk, mayo, lemon juice and garlic.
2. Stir in the herbs. Season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate until ready to use.
