  • 2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut into eight wedges each
  • 20 ounces (2 cans) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 12 ounces citrus soda (I used Mountain Dew)

  • This recipe can easily doubled for larger events.
  • I used Mountain Dew soda but you also could try 7-Up, Sprite or other citrus soda.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Here’s how you make them:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 13x9-inch baking dish.
  2. Separate crescent roll dough into triangles. Roll one apple wedge into one dough triangle, pinch to seal and place in prepared baking dish.
  3. Melt butter in a small saucepan and stir in cinnamon and sugar. Pour over apple dumplings.
  4. Pour Mountain Dew over the dumplings.
  5. Bake until golden brown, about 35 to 45 minutes. Serve warm with a side of vanilla ice cream, if desired.

Are there any current information about this recipe any current comments being made on what kind of apples to be used or brown sugar or terminangal sugar or cinnamon and different spices

Rosseyes , I’ve been making this recipe for years as the recipe calls for above. No adjustments needed. Still prefer Granny Smith, though we have used other apples on occasion.
