Lemon balsamic chicken recipes are all the rage right now. If you're on the hunt for a quick and easy balsamic lemon chicken recipe, here's one to try if you have an air fryer. This air fryer lemon balsamic chicken uses thin-cut chicken breast (aka chicken cutlets) and cooks up in about 10 minutes in the air fryer. The moist chicken is a delicious, healthy high-protein dinner any night of the week.
This air fryer recipe has a short, gluten-free ingredient list, too. Here is what you need to gather from your fridge and pantry for this easy chicken dinner: thin-cut chicken breast, olive oil, lemons for juicing and slicing (read about the surprising health benefits of lemons), balsamic vinegar (check out the health benefits of balsamic vinegar) and parsley flakes.
To make this budget-friendly balsamic lemon chicken recipe, simply whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice (fresh is best!), balsamic vinegar and parsley flakes. Season the marinade with a little salt and black pepper, then let the chicken take a quick soak for about 15 minutes. Remove the chicken, put it into the air fryer and cook until chicken is moist, golden, juicy and delicious.
Variation: You could use boneless chicken thighs instead of chicken breast. This may affect cooking time. You could also add some lemon zest to the marinade if you want even more lemon flavor.
Serve this low-carb air fryer chicken for dinner with your favorite side dishes. I served mine on a bed of healthy quinoa. Next time I'm going to drizzle the chicken with a balsamic glaze.

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Marinade Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 8 to 10 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 4 thin-cut chicken breasts (chicken cutlets)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
- lemon slices
Here's how to make it:
- Combine the olive oil, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar and parsley flakes in a small bowl. Season with salt and black pepper. (For even more flavor, you could add some garlic powder and/or onion powder.)
- Put the chicken breasts into a shallow dish or plastic food storage bag. Add the marinade. Let the chicken marinate for about 15 minutes on the counter. (Do not marinate the chicken over 30 minutes.)
- Put the chicken into the air fryer in a single layer. (I like to use an air fryer liner for easier cleanup.) Air fry at 375 degrees F for 4 minutes.
- Flip the chicken over and top with a lemon slice.
- Continue to cook until chicken is cooked through, about 4 to 6 minutes more, depending on the thickness of the chicken. Chicken is cooked through at 165 degrees F internal temperature on a food thermometer.
- Serve. Store any leftover chicken in an airtight container in the fridge.
