Pork chops are a favorite ingredient of mine. Grilled pork chops are on my dinner menu quite often. Grilled pork chops are quick, easy and inexpensive (not to mention delicious). I also like to use different spices and spice blends on my pork chops. One of my favorites is lemon-pepper seasoning.
You can have a wonderful budget dinner on the table in about 15 minutes with this flavorful three-ingredient pork chop recipe. Here is your short shopping list for this shortcut recipe: bone-in pork chops, lemon-pepper seasoning and olive oil. The pork chops are seasoned with the lemon-pepper seasoning, drizzled with olive oil and then quickly cooked on the grill.
Most lemon-pepper seasonings are gluten-free, but always check the label to make sure if you want a gluten-free dinner. You could grill boneless pork chops, but they cook a lot quicker than bone-in pork chops, so adjust the cooking time.
Serve these high-protein pork chops for dinner with your favorite side dishes. (Check out the health benefits of protein.) I served mine with baby pattypan squash and cauliflower with cheese sauce. No, we did not eat the rainbow that night (just yellow), but it was delicious!
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 8 to 10 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 2
Ingredients
- 2 thick, bone-in pork chops (mine were about 1-inch thick)
- 1 - 2 teaspoons lemon-pepper seasoning (I used Kinder's Lemon Pepper Seasoning Blend)
- olive oil
Here's how to make it:
- Season the pork chops with the lemon-pepper seasoning on both sides. (If your lemon-pepper seasoning does not have salt, you can sprinkle with salt as well. Check the label!) Drizzle with olive oil. (You can use boneless pork chops but it will affect the cooking time.)
- For some color, if desired, sprinkle with parsley flakes. (Parsley flakes are on of my favorite ways to add color to dishes that are lacking.)
- Let the pork chops marinate while you heat the grill to medium-high. (If you don't have a grill, you can cook the pork chops on an indoor grill or in a grill pan or cast iron skillet.)
- Cook the pork chops until well seared on the bottom. Flip the pork chops over and continue to cook until to your desired doneness. (Pork is safe to eat at 145 degrees F.)
- Remove the pork chops and let them rest a few minutes.
- Serve the pork chops hot with your desired side dishes. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat as desired. This recipe can easily be doubled to serve four.
