Being from Texas, we love our Texas Roadhouse restaurants. I was surprised the first time I saw a Texas Roadhouse in California when visiting my daughter. You don't have to be from Texas to love the famous steakhouse!
One of their popular dishes is the grilled pork chops. I'm a ribeye girl, but have tasted these juicy grilled pork chops (watch your plates if I'm sitting beside you!), and they are delicious. After researching the ingredients in these bone-in pork chops, I found a copycat recipe that worked. These grilled pork chops are full of flavor and so juicy.
You probably already have everything you need to make the marinade for this pork chops recipe. Here is the short shopping list: Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, sweet paprika, salt, black pepper and olive oil. And, of course, you will need thick, bone-in pork chops.
Texas Roadhouse serves their pork chops with a peppercorn sauce. After researching the sauce ingredients, I found I didn't have heavy whipping cream. But luckily, I found a recipe from The English Kitchen to serve with the pork chops that was tangy, sweet and creamy. Next time I'll try a copycat peppercorn sauce recipe. This creamy sauce is optional. The pork chops are amazing without the sauce. It's up to you.
I have to give a quick shoutout to Marie Rayner from this food blog. With publishers now having to fight with AI-generated content, I love that she called this issue out:
"I found the recipe on [a website] and do think their photos were AI generated ... There is so much AI stuff around these days. You can usually tell quite easily which images are produced that way. They are a little bit too perfect and too smooth. You never have to worry about that with me. I will always show you things exactly as they turned out, for good or for bad! My photos may not be the best in the world, but they are at least an honest representation of the recipe and you know that I have cooked whatever it is that I am sharing with you. Not just sharing a recipe I have never cooked and plucking an image out of thin air to represent it."
The photos of my recipes my not be the greatest, but they are real. Hats off to Marie.
Serve these high-protein pork chops for dinner with your favorite side dishes.
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 10 minutes plus time to marinate
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes plus time to marinate
Servings: 2
Ingredients
Pork Chops
- 2 thick, bone-in pork chops
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Optional Sauce
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika
Here's how to make it:
- Put all the marinade ingredients into a plastic food storage bag or shallow dish. Squish the bag or stir to combine well.
- Add the pork chops and turn to coat. Marinate the chops in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours and up to overnight.
- When ready to grill, remove the pork chops from the marinade. Cook on a hot grill for about 4 to 5 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Pork should be 145 degrees F internal temperature on a food thermometer. You could baste with the marinade as you grill, if desired, or discard the marinade.
- Let the pork chops rest for about 5 minutes before serving. Don't have a grill? Cook the pork chops on the stovetop in a grill pan or cast iron skillet.
- To make the sauce, combine all the ingredients. Season to taste with salt and black pepper. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Serve the pork chops as is or drizzled with the tangy sauce. This recipe could easily be doubled to feed four. Store any leftover pork chops or sauce covered in the fridge.
