If you've never made chicken in an air fryer, let me highly recommend it. Cooking chicken breast in the air fryer results in golden brown chicken that's crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. This recipe for air fryer chicken breast is beautifully seasoned and incredibly flavorful, and it's ready in less than 20 minutes. Amazing! Plus you get the health benefits of protein.
Here's your shopping list for this easy, delicious chicken dinner recipe: chicken breast, canola oil, onion powder, garlic powder, turmeric and paprika. You coat the chicken in the mixture, then drop the coated chicken into the air fryer. Thirteen or so minutes later, you've got some amazing air-fried chicken!
You can serve this gluten-free, low-sodium chicken dish with your favorite side dishes and vegetables. I served it with a cheesy potato casserole and balsamic roasted beets. So good!
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 7 minutes
Cook Time: 13 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
Here's how to make it:
- If your air fryer requires preheating, preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F, according to manufacturer's directions. Pour the oil into a mixing bowl then add the seasonings and mix to combine.
- Dip the chicken into the mixture, ensuring the chicken is coated in the mixture.
- Spray the inside of the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray. Place the coated chicken breasts in the the basket.
- Place the air fryer basket into the air fryer. Set the cook time for 13 minutes. (My chicken breasts were very large, so I cut off a portion of each one to make two bigger pieces and two smaller pieces. If you have very large or very small chicken breasts, you may want to add or subtract a minute or two of cooking time.
- After chicken is cooked, check the temperature using a meat thermometer. Chicken is done when it reaches 165 degrees F. If your chicken has not reached that temperature, put it back in the air fryer for a couple more minutes until it is done.
- Chicken should rest for a few minutes before you slice or serve it. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
