I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas Martini: The Best Holiday Cocktail Recipe by Ann Marie Patitucci

I love a signature cocktail for the holidays or a theme party. Some Christmas cocktails are especially festive, with the traditional red, green and white colors and typical holiday flavors. What I like about this White Christmas cocktail recipe is that it’s not overly festive; you can easily serve it throughout the winter. It also has a unique look; it will surely stand out among the more traditional drinks of the season. Finally, it contains white chocolate liqueur. Need I say more?
If you’re hosting a dinner or party, good news: you can make a pitcher of this cocktail in advance. All you need to do is increase the amounts of each ingredient and add everything to the pitcher. When you’re ready to “open the bar,” ask guests to shake up individual servings with ice and pour the martini into their martini glasses.
On the other hand, if you’re attending a dinner or party and would like to bring something for the host, here’s a fun idea: put together a martini shaker, the alcohol needed for the drink and a decorative print out of the recipe. Add a bow or two and it's ready for gifting. (Make sure that the recipient drinks alcohol, not everyone does.) Cheers!
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Servings: 1 to 2
Ingredients
- 2 ounces vanilla vodka
- 2 ounces white chocolate liqueur
- 1 ounce white crème de cacao
- 1 ounce half and half
- honey, for rim garnish (optional)
- course sanding sugar, for rim garnish (optional)
Here’s how to make it:
- If you’d like to rim the glasses (I think it’s a nice touch), pour honey (or water) into a shallow dish and pour the sanding sugar in another shallow dish. Dip the rim of the glass in the honey or water and then dip the rim in the sugar. Coat evenly. Repeat with all glasses and set them aside.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add the vodka, white chocolate liqueur, crème de cacao and half and half. Shake vigorously and strain into the martini glasses. Cheers!
