Who says you can't have chicken wings for dinner and they're only for gameday? You'll wonder how so much flavor can be packed into one wing! This easy chicken wing recipe is so flavorful and is the perfect appetizer recipe for your football get-togethers this weekend or dinner with the family.
The chicken wings are marinated in a flavorful marinade made with yogurt (read about the health benefits of yogurt), lemon juice, garam masala, turmeric, Kashmiri chili powder, ginger and garlic. Great flavors, right? After marinating at least one hour (marinate overnight if you can), the chicken is baked in the oven until cooked through and golden.
Kashmiri chili powder is an Indian spice that is different from Mexican chili powder. The powder is made from Kashmiri chiles, which have a different flavor and a higher heat level. If you can't find Kashmiri chili power, use paprika and desired amount of cayenne as a substitute.
Serve these baked chicken wings as an appetizer or main dish for dinner with a vegetable, grain and salad for a complete meal. You could use this same cooking method on chicken legs, thighs or even when roasting a whole chicken.

I barely cared about the game and forgot to buy wings before Friday, so I had to use drumsticks. They were still delicious, but next time (there will definitely be a next time), I'll definitely use wings. I also think next time I'll use more yogurt, and cover it in the oven to keep in more moisture. It'll be more like a glaze than a soft crust. Otherwise the flavor profiles were amazing!
