Pandemic Purchases: What Crazy Things Did You Buy Your Kids During the COVID-19 Pandemic to Keep Them Busy? by Mike Prochaska
Mom and Dad, what kind of crazy things did you buy this winter to keep your kids busy during the coronavirus pandemic? I have been spending a lot of money on LEGOs – my daughter needed something to keep her hands busy during e-learning. She has almost built the complete Harry Potter LEGO set. We have been going to the LEGO store almost weekly to get new new building blocks.
I also bought both my kids the Gym 1 indoor door swing. It's like a bar you hang from the door frame and then you can add a swing, rope ladder or use as a pull-up bar. I have to admit, it was a last-minute at-the-end-of-my-rope purchase. Amazon makes it so easy for those kind of purchases, but my kids love it and it got them moving again!
We also bought water balloons and did the frozen balloon challenge. The challenge is you freeze the water with food coloring and then break the balloon. I couldn’t find balloons anywhere so I just ordered them from Amazon.
I also couldn’t find sleds anywhere – they were sold out everywhere I looked. I finally ordered some on Amazon. I feel like we had an Amazon package every day for a while.
