Custom Temporary Tattoos: I Got a (Temporary!) Tattoo & Here's What Happened DIY

I'd been considering a tattoo for a while, and I wasn't sure why. Maybe it was because I'd battled through some troubling times in 2016 followed by my mother's death in 2017. Or maybe I just thought it would be cool. I should have known I wasn't cut out for a permanent inking when I decided that if I were to get a tattoo, it would be hidden under my wedding ring. Right where no one could see it.

Then, I saw an ad for a website where you can create your own temporary tattoo. More than those stick-on tattoos you can buy, this is applied with rubbing alcohol and heat and lasts up to two weeks.

Applying it was simple, though you do have to apply constant pressure for a full 15 minutes, which is longer than it sounds. The design starts out a bit faded, but over the course of 24 hours it evolves into a deeper color.

My final take? While fun to look at for a week or so, it convinced me I don't want a real one. I definitely admire them on others, though!
