Unless it is absolutely necessary, nobody wants to change their plans after they have been made. When it comes to cancelling a flight, the process is not only difficult, but you may wind up losing your money too. All airlines do not, however, follow the same cancellation policy, and Alaska Airlines gives its passengers 24 hours from the time of booking to cancel the ticket for free and get a refund. There are some fare options that permit limited flight changes or cancellations. Additionally, if you purchased a non-refundable ticket, the airline will not issue you a refund, but you might be eligible for a future travel credit. Holders of refundable tickets are exempt from paying a cancellation fee.
