Postpartum Recovery: 4 Activities to Avoid After Childbirth! Postpartum

When we see celebrities getting back into shape right after delivery, it’s tempting to want to start getting back to “normal.” However, the body needs time to recover after childbirth. Here are four things you may want to avoid! 

  • Strenuous activities (cycling, weight lifting, aerobic exercise) - Wait for at least six weeks after delivery.
  • Sex – Let the vagina heal!
  • Travel - Wait until you develop a breastfeeding routine and are well-rested. If you must travel, avoid long flights due to risk of deep vein thrombosis.
  • Tampons or “rinsing” the vagina with fluids.
