Quaint Quilts Coloring Pages: Fun & Free Printable Patchwork Coloring Pages for Quilters Printables Activities Playtime Fun With Dad
My grandma was a quilter. She didn't make elaborate quilts, just simple squares, but she made sure everyone in the family had one of her quilts. Somehow, I ended up with three of them and the quilts are packed away like treasures I want to preserve. So when my husband's cousin said she was making us a quilt as a thank you, I was honored because I knew how much time and work making a quilt takes. (This photo is of a sneak peak at the start of the Double Wedding Ring quilt she selected for us.)
Quilting is not a lost art! Globally, the quilt market is valued at about $5.32 billion in 2024, and is projected to grow to over $9.26 billion by 2034. In North America alone, there's about 9 to 11 million quilters. Evidence of quilting has been traced back to ancient Egypt. "An ivory carving in the British Museum depicts the first Egyptian Dynasty king wearing a quilted mantle. Other examples of quilted garments date back to the 12th century. By sewing fabric pieces together and encasing padding inside, seamstresses and tailors created garments for crusaders to keep them warm and comfortable under their protective armor." Who knew?
For many, quilting is a mindfulness activity. For those who appreciate the craftsmanship of beautiful quilts but do not quilt themselves, they can do another mindfulness activity: coloring. These free printable coloring pages of quilts and quilting are not only a wonderful way to appreciate quilts, but relax your brain and explore your creativity. We even threw in one quilt activity page for the kids – and possible future quilter themselves!
