To ensure Franyi and I build a strong relationship and that he remains in constant contact with his dad, I bought him a tablet for Christmas and loaded it with WhatsApp.
What's WhatsApp? It's an app that facilitates text, voice notes and phone/video calls via wireless connections. This app has saved us hundreds of dollars in phone bills and allows us to talk with Franyi at length every night.
