We moms use our intuition all the time. No book is going to tell you what your child needs in any given moment. Gather the facts, talk to other moms, get advice. Bottom line: when your child calls you to his room for a glass of water, you’ll know whether he’s really thirsty or needs to be comforted. You’ll know whether a kid will be a bad influence on him, or if he can go back to school after being sick or needs to stay home for one more day. 

It’s similar to falling in love with someone. You just know it in your heart. So don’t ever underestimate your intuition. And trust it above all else!
