Strep throat is hard to diagnose in anyone, but especially difficult in young kids, since they aren’t able to articulate their symptoms. The infection also often presents in many different ways, making it hard for parents to discern the root cause of their child’s illness. If your child has been any of the following, make an appointment with your doctor:
- cranky
- not eating
- has had a fever for several days
Your child's doctor can do a test for strep and make sure it’s not something else like a sinus or ear infection.
