Are Your Kids Better Behaved at Other People's Houses? Why It's a Good Thing! Parenting

A neighbor came by with his daughter – my son’s friend – and said, “Your son is so well behaved. He always says please and thank you.” I wanted to say, “You’ve got the wrong kid,” but I’ve heard it too many times before. And I’ve seen proof when we’ve gone visiting. My son can be rude at home, at times, and we’re working on it.

But I’m glad that he saves his rudeness for me. It’s great that when he’s upset he feels safe enough to express himself at home. I think that’s a testament to being a good parent. How about you? Is your kid better behaved at other people’s houses than at home?
