Fruit Salad: Get Your Kids Involved & Celebrate Those Summer Fruits Activities

So many fresh fruits are in season right now. Want to showcase some summer fruit in a salad? Your child can help! Toddlers can cut soft fruit with a plastic or butter knife for recipes, under proper supervision. They also can help pour ingredients, open containers and peel fruit such as bananas. Older children can use a peeler, chop fruit and create a salad on their own.

You'll need:

  • kiwi
  • strawberries
  • blueberries
  • raspberries
  • watermelon
  • mango
  • blackberries
  • mandarins
  • bananas

Here's how to make it:

  1. After your kids have helped cut up the fruit, put it in a bowl.
  2. Toss!

Yep, no need for any type of dressing because the fruit is sweet enough (and healthier) without it. For the grownup version for adults, you can add a bit of fruit-flavored liquor.
