Baby Sleep Training: Here's What You Need to Reduce to Help Baby Sleep Through the Night! Baby
At my son's 8-week appointment, our pediatrician said sleep training is most effective if you begin at 2 months. I felt uneasy about dropping night feedings and “cry it out,” but more sleep was appealing!
To ease in sleep training, I reduced the amount of ounces I fed my baby during night feeds. I started by giving half the ounces of day feeds or breastfeeding for fewer minutes. My baby fussed for a few days, but soothed in other ways:
- singing
- rocking
- pacifier
After a few nights, my baby no longer woke up for those feeds because he realized it wasn’t worth it. Check with your pediatrician about your unique baby!
