"Betty & Coretta": Mary J. Blige Channels Her Mother & Grandmother in Lifetime Movie Role Activities

Nine-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist Mary J. Blige starred in the Lifetime movie "Betty & Coretta." It's a film depicting the lives of the widows of Martin Luther King, Jr., and Malcolm X. 

“I used my experience for the role, but I didn’t think about just using my experience as a mom," Blige says. "I used my mother’s experience as well as my grandmother’s experience. My mother was a single mom that went through so much. She stayed strong for all of us."
