A Recent College Grad’s Experience Working on Tedra Cobb's Congressional Campaign Career Make a Difference

I walked into Tedra Cobb’s office three days after I graduated from college. I was excited, motivated and a little nervous to be working on a congressional campaign when I felt so young and inexperienced. I was greeted with a big hug and smile from Tedra that introduced me to life on a political campaign.

Although the fast pace of a political campaign may not be for everyone, I immediately loved it. My official training on the first day was brief, then I was on my own. Like a little wobbly deer taking her first steps, I stumbled my way through databases, research, emails, phone calls and door knockings. Now, just two months later, I am confident in my ability to make a lasting impact on this campaign.

I believe the environment that allowed me to thrive is because of our female candidate, Tedra Cobb. I believe that her leadership style of inclusion, respect, hard work and open dialogue and listening creates an environment that is loving, friendly, supportive and fun to be a part of. Working for her congressional campaign has taught me the importance of teamwork, respect and open dialogue, and having confidence in my abilities as a young professional.
