Independence Day Has Life Lessons for Our Children: Here's Why! Holidays Parenting

As parents, it is our job to take care for our children and planning for independence seems counterintuitive, but teaching children the value of independence cannot be underestimated. As a country, America became independent and formed a union that is an example for the world. As kids grow and mature, helping them to see themselves as strong capable individuals provides a foundation for all future achievements.

  • Independence takes time to teach.
  • Praise the effort.
  • Give kids choices.
  • Hold back the help.
  • Find positives, even with a misstep.
  • Perfect is not the standard.

Celebrate your child's "Independence Day" with each of their achievements.
