"The Children's Tree of Terezin," written by Dede Harris and illustrated by Sara Akerlund, tells the true story about how children in the Terezin concentration camp overcame unimaginable obstacles to give life to a small tree sapling. During the engaging, hands-on program presented by the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center on Sunday, June 25, 2017, children will decorate a flower pot to take home and grow their own treasured plant with their families. Delicious "tree 'ts" will be provided and a book signing will follow. The program starts at 11 a.m. and is recommended for kids 8 years of age and up. Reservations are required.
