Self-acceptance: It’s Never Too Early or Late to Find It! Try This Exercise! Motherhood

Mom, when it comes to self-acceptance, how ya' doing? Do you embrace yourself – faults and all – or do you berate yourself, re-instilling those untrue thoughts? This negative self-talk is a bad habit. So, let’s support ourselves, and each other, because none of us is immune.

Whatever the reasons we berate ourselves – society, family history, a string of bad luck – it comes down to choice. Just because we have been acting this way for a very, very long time doesn’t justify continuing. Right there. It’s a choice. The following exercise helps me with self-acceptance. Perhaps, it’ll help you, too.

  • Close your eyes, breathe and find that inner sanction of safety.
  • Feel your true self, the part of you whose engaging.
  • Send her love and respect.

Do this twice a day and whenever else necessary.
