Tommee Tippee has issued a voluntary recall of some of their sippy cups. Why? Mold can develop on the removable, one-piece white valve inside the cup when it remains wet or moist and is clean infrequently.

The company says that although the resulting risk of gastrointestinal symptoms and infections in consumers with compromised immune systems is low, it’s taking no chances and recalling certain cups in the U.S. and Canada. The affected cups – 3.1 million in U.S. and 227,000 in Canada – were sold in stores and online dating back to December 2014.

Own one – or two or three? Immediately stop using the cups if they have a one-piece white valve and click here to get instructions for a replacement cup.
