Read to Your Baby. Read to Your Baby. Read to Your Baby: Why Books & Repetition is Good for Babies by Cheryl Leahy

In my experience, routines work well for babies. My nap-time routine used to consist of reading a variety of books to my baby before placing him in his crib.

I learned that babies love repetition, and I started reading the same books to him before nap time. This was beneficial in many ways: It signaled that nap time was imminent, he learned to predict what was going to happen in the book, and it helped develop his vocabulary because I use his finger to point to and name objects.

Reading opens up so many doors, and your child benefits from it in endless ways. Enjoy that special time together!
