Preschool Prep: 4 Ways to Prepare Your Child for Preschool!

Starting preschool is a big step. Here are four tips to get your kid off to a good start!

  • Introduce the concept of school to your child. Tell stories and read books about what school will be like.
  • Visit school before their first day. Show them what school looks like. This will help kids who may be scared.
  • Let them bring a comfort object from home. Ask the school if you are allowed to send a blanket/stuffed animal for your child to hug if they feel scared/sad.
  • Expect adjustments. Many kids have separation anxiety and that’s normal. It may take time to get used to the new setting.

It'll probably take longer for you to adjust, Mom. Grab the tissues!
