The virus remain dormant in the body and is later reactivated as shingles. Recognizing the symptoms can help your family and limit further spread of it. Symptoms include:

  • pain
  • tingling
  • burning
  • red rash that begins a few days after the pain
  • fluid-filled blisters that break open and crust over
  • itching

If you suspect shingles in you or your kids, see your doctor for treatment. Get plenty of rest and avoid contact with others.
