Child Abuse Awareness Month: 5 Signs a Child Might Be Abused! Kids' Health

One of the major challenges with identifying abuse is that an abused child will rarely tell someone that he or she is being abused. Here are some signs that a child might be dealing with abuse.

  • Sudden changes in behavior or school performance
  • Has not received help for a medical problem
  • Watchful, scared something bad is going to happen
  • Lacks adult supervision
  • Doesn’t want to leave school or go home

If you notice a child with these signs talk to a professional such as a school counselor or social worker.
