• 14 ounces (1 can) sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
• 16 ounces smoked sausage links
• 3 tart apples, peeled and cut into chunks
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 3/4 cup apple juice

Here's how to make it:

1. Put the sauerkraut into a slow cooker. Top with the sausage, apples and brown sugar. Season with salt and pepper. Pour the apple juice over the top.
2. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours. Serve. Store any leftover sausages and kraut in an airtight container in the fridge.
