Want to Maintain Blonde Hair Color or Blonde Highlights Between Salon Visits? Go Purple! by Cheryl Leahy

If you have platinum blonde hair color or blonde highlights, it can often turn brassy between salon appointments. Your color can fade, and red, orange or yellow tones can come through. To combat this, you can use a purple or violet-hued shampoo a few times a week. If you look on the color wheel, purple is opposite yellow, so it cancels it out.

The same goes for hair color. Keep your bright blonde fresh between appointments and choose a tone-correcting shampoo and conditioner that is specifically for blonde, color-treated hair. Banish brassy and stay classy!
