Coffee Lover? Get Your Premium Java Fix at Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Seattle by Elisa Schmitz
Coffee lover? You will think you've died and gone to heaven when you visit the Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room in Seattle, Wash! It's a one-of-a kind "coffee shrine" in Starbucks' hometown that captures the past, present and future of the company.
Each year, Starbucks travels the world looking for the best coffee. When they find the ones they consider to be special and rare, they bring them home and share at the Roastery. Starbucks tasters evaluate more than 250,000 cups of coffee every year in their tasting room, selecting only most unique coffees to become worthy of Starbucks Reserve.
The Roastery is open to the public. I've been there twice: once for a very fun #30SecondMom meetup with our contributors Lynette Patterson and Margaret Steck; and the second time, for a coffee tasting. Much like a wine tasting, we were able to compare several blends of coffees and choose our favorite. It was an exceptional experience!
The Roastery has unique food and gift items, too, so make sure you spend some time looking around and enjoying this truly special place (and bring home a few souvenirs). Learn more at Roastery.Starbucks.com.
