San Diego Travel Guide: 4 San Diego Attractions to Consider When Planning Your Trip to Southern California

As I sheltered in place because of COVID-19, I found myself thinking a lot about future vacations with my family. Planning vacations is one way I relieve stress and get my mind off the endless cycle of worry and anxiety caused by this pandemic. One place that I highly recommend you go to is San Diego, California. Here are my top four things to do:

Starry Lane Bakery: Starry Lane Bakery makes delicious treats that are allergen free. Yes, everything in the shop is free of gluten, soy, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, fish and shellfish. My daughter, who has some allergies and intolerances, was able to choose anything she wanted and we didn't have to worry!

The New Children's Museum: The New Children's Museum is located in downtown San Diego and has a variety of exhibits and programming for children. With art installations like the Whammock, a three-dimensional crocheted climbing structure, your child will definitely have a great time.

Beaches: If you are in San Diego, you have to visit one of the many state beaches. If you drive a bit out of San Diego, you can find slightly less crowded beaches in Carlsbad and Oceanside if you go earlier in the day.

Balboa Park: Balboa Park is beautiful to walk through with your family. It also houses 16 museums, a Japanese garden and the San Diego Zoo. You are sure to find something fun for everyone in your family here.

I hope San Diego makes your vacation list once we are able to travel again. Happy planning!
