Magnificent Myalup Beach: A Fierce, Wild & Beautiful Area in Australia by Fiona Whiley
Far away from the crowds and bustle of the city on the western coast of Australia, if you look hard enough, you will find the sleepy little village of Myalup. It is home to about 200 people, who live on the southern edge of the Yalgorup National Park, and adjacent to an amazingly wild and beautiful beach.
Myalup Beach is a stretch of pristine white sand that meets the Indian Ocean, is accessible for 4WD vehicles and is well known as an excellent fishing beach. There are large sand dunes covered in vegetation that provide a great place to admire the scenic panorama of the coastline.
The beach is visited by couples taking romantic walks along the sand in the evenings, fishermen catching their evening meal and travelers who come to stand in awe at the beauty of nature. The barrel waves that crash against the shore of this beach in a long sequence are unusually noisy, which serves as a reminder that nature can be both beautiful and fierce.
There is also Myalup Beach Caravan Park, which also has several small chalets for hire with beautiful views over the beach. The park has a general store offering takeaway meals and coffee, as well as many other grocery items and services.
