"No matter how busy you may be ... there's always time to put your worried family at ease." On Jonathan Kubben’s 27th birthday, he quit his job, sold his car and bought a one-way ticket to travel around the world. His mother always encouraged his passion for adventure, but like most moms, she has a tendency to worry.

To alleviate her fears, Jonathan sent her messages throughout his travels, letting her know he was safe. You’ll have to see the video to see what we mean.

This video is longer than 30 seconds, but we think it's worth it.

This is fantastic! I was lucky to able to call my parents every 2-3 weeks when I did my European travels in the early 90s.

I know! When I studied in England we had weekly calls at the same day and time each week. I remember Thanksgiving being an exception. :)

Thanks Ann Marie Gardinier Halstead for a beautiful story. I used to send postcards to my parents all the time from my years studying and backpacking abroad.

I bet they treasured those postcards, Dieter Schmitz !
