Find Adventure (and Maybe Some Nude Sunbathers) at the English Garden In Munich, Germany! by Elisa Schmitz

The Englischer Garten (English Garden) is one of Europe's largest public parks (larger than Central Park in NYC!) in the center of Munich, Germany. Created in 1789 by Sir Benjamin Thompson, the Englischer Garten name refers to its English garden style landscape.

Artificial streams flow through the garden, which many enjoy swimming and wading in. Because of the current produced by the water pump, you can see people lazily drifting downstream. But at the top, the current is so strong that you can actually surf on the stream (be careful, this can be dangerous)!

If you look around closely, you're likely to see nude sunbathers catching some rays. Apparently, it's perfectly legal to drop trou in the garden! But most people wear swimsuits or shorts to enjoy a day in this peaceful park. I suggest bringing a picnic, spreading a blanket under a willow tree and just hanging out all afternoon. People watching in the English Garden simply cannot be beat!
