Family Trips: Vacation Is Not a Time to Give Parenting a Break!

When you're on vacation, it's important to maintain consistency with how you parent at home. Just because you're on vacation doesn't mean that all the rules go away. You can certainly choose to do that, but keep in mind that your return to reality will be much trickier than if you had continued to live by the rules you set at home. If, for example, a certain behavior warrants time-out in your home, then that same behavior on vacation should, too.

Consistency is key with teaching your children the rules and setting expectations.

This is such good advice! I will definitely keep it in mind when I go on vacation with my family at the end of the month!

I have to admit kids get away with more when on vacation. Like
I let them play on iPads on plane or in. Car
