TEY GIAP CHIAN also known as Elvin Tey was born in August 18, 1982, from a town called Ipoh, about 2 hour drive from the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

He attended Yucai Independent High School, Perak secondary school, and then graduated from Swinburne University Sarawak Campus (Swinburne University)
of Technology – Sarawak Campus) with a Bachelor of Engineering.

His passion for electronic engineering has lead Tey Giap Chian to United States to further his studies in a master’s degree. He was admitted to Volgenau School of Engineering of the George Mason University (VA).

Upon graduation, he was employed by L-3 Technologies in the United States, formerly L-3 Communications Holdings, an American company that provides command and control, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C3ISR) systems, and products such as avionics, marine products, training equipment and services, instrumentation, aerospace and navigation products.

While he was being employed there, he dealt with customers that include the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, the United States Intelligence Community, NASA, aerospace contractors, and commercial telecommunications and wireless companies.

In 2019, the company merged with Harris Corporation and changed its name to L3 Harris Technologies.

In addition to being an outstanding engineer for the great passion in electronic engineering,
Tey Giap Chian is also very passionate in photography.

The time outside of work, Tey spent a lot of his time in photography.

Tey also likes to travel around during his holidays, and in those holidays he never forgets the most essential travel companion, which is his beloved Canon DSLR camera. He likes landscape photography the most, and very often sends his works to major photography competitions, including the open group of the Sony World Photography Awards.
