Protect Your Baby From Whooping Cough, Mom-to-be! Here's How! by Dr. Bridget Boyd

Protect Your Baby From Whooping Cough, Mom-to-be! Here's How!

Whooping cough can be deadly, especially in infants. You can protect your baby from this disease even before he or she is born. We recommend that all pregnant women get a Tdap vaccine in their third trimester so the baby will have protecting antibodies even before birth. It also is recommended that all others who will be in close contact with the baby have had a Tdap vaccine within 5 years. This includes:

  • Dad
  • siblings
  • grandparents
  • babysitters
  • friends
  • relatives

You can never be too cautious!
