Don't Give Up On Breastfeeding: Here's Something That May Help!

Proper latch is important, but if you continue to struggle, you may still be able to continue breastfeeding. Nipple shields have helped many moms continue to breastfeed. For a variety of reasons, some babies are better than others with obtaining and sustaining latch.

If proper technique and positioning aren’t working for you, a shield might be helpful in teaching a baby to latch, especially if the baby is used to feeding from a bottle. This should be done with the help of a doctor trained in breastfeeding or a certified lactation consultant.
