Welcome to the Second Trimester: Here's How Moms-to-Be May Feel in This Trimester of Pregnancy by Melissa Hurt

Welcome to the Second Trimester: Here's How Moms-to-Be May Feel in This Trimester of Pregnancy

You have made it past the discomfort of the first trimester You may have felt exhausted and sick with even the sight (or worse, the smell) of food. Some of you may have stayed curled up on the sofa while you nibbled whatever you were able to keep down. This dramatic drop in energy is similar to what you will feel in the fourth trimester once your baby is born.

Now, though, you are in the second trimester – 13 weeks to 28 weeks. Your energy starts to gradually return as does your appetite. You are probably more solidly grounded in your pregnancy and you may even have a desire to join a prenatal yoga class, start swimming or go on long walks again. I highly recommend all of these activities! Enjoy your pregnancy and your changing body.

Once you have your baby, you’ve made it to the fourth trimester (the first three months of postpartum life). Once your baby's biorhythms begin to get a bit more steady, you both should be able to sleep for longer stretches of time. This will increase your energy and you may feel inspired to leave the house. Go to "Baby and Me" yoga classes and mommy stroller walks. The movement will feel great and the community will serve your spirit well.

I loved the second trimester! I was beyond the morning sickness of the first trimester and before the exhaustion of the third. I truly enjoyed being pregnant in the second trimester. Thank you for this great tip, Melissa Hurt !
