For the Love of Lucky: Our Beloved Pet Crossed Over the Rainbow Bridge Pets Editor's Letter

Our family is heartbroken: our beloved 13-year-old yellow Lab, Lucky, crossed over the rainbow bridge today. From her mischievous puppyhood to her adventure-loving adulthood, Lucky was our faithful companion.

She and I walked countless miles together, curiously exploring every nook and cranny of our town.

She was a constant cuddler and consoler to my kids. She was always there when someone needed her. She made such a difference in our lives.

There was no way you could feel stress if you were petting Lucky’s velvet ears, or rubbing her furry belly.

For the last few years, Lucky lived with my daughter, Jules, attending college with her. She was her roommate and best friend. Jules was a wonderful mom to Lucky, and in the end, an amazing caregiver, too.

We miss Lucky terribly, and feel the loss of her loving and caring presence in our lives already.

Thank you, Lucky, for all the love and companionship you gave to our family these last 13 years. To have the gift of you in our lives, we were the lucky ones. We love you and will keep you forever in our hearts.
