Our family does temporary fostering of children. I tend to stay in touch with many of them and they continue to flow in and out of our lives. Recently two of our “girls” were back and sharing more of their story, both current and past. The difficulty in their lives is daunting. Sometimes, all I can do is offer an ear and a hug. Sometimes, the best we can do is be there for a friend or a child.

Is there someone you can show up for today? Listening and being a consistent and caring friend helps re-establish trust and confidence. Sometimes, it's enough to start the healing process.
